Couple charged with obtaining 10 million from a guy to make him ambassador to Kenya in Congo,another charged with sneaking out of hotel without paying

A couple has been arraigned in court and charged with defrauding a Dr Ali Raza Sh 10 million pretending that they were in a position to make him an ambassador.
Braxwell Wanjala Shiundu and Susan Awino Shiundi are alleged to have obtained the money pretending they were in a position to make to secure him a job as an ambassador to Kenya in Brazzaville Congo, a fact they knew to be false.
The two are alleged to have committed the offence on diverse dates between May 2018 and March 2018 in parklands in Nairobi jointly with others not before court.
The Shiundu’s denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi.
They were granted a bond of Sh 3 million or alternative cash bail of Sh 1 million.
The case will be mentioned on 23rd April and will be heard on 3rd May 2018.
In the same court, another couple was charged for spending over a week in a Nairobi hotel and sneaking out without paying the bill.
Roy Bennet Osano and Beth Muthoni Kimani are accused of incurring a bill of Sh 140,000 at Eka Hotel in Lang’ata, Nairobi by booking and checking into the hotel for eight days without paying and instead sneaked out without paying.
The couple is said to have committed the offnce on diverse dates between 4th and 11th January 2017.
Osano and Muthoni were further charged with later issuing a bad check of Sh 75,000 to the said hotel.
They are alleged to have jointly issued the cheque on 9th February 2017 on their Spectrum Concepts and Development Limited Company’s account knowing that the account had insufficient funds.
Mr and Mrs Osano denied the charges before Milimani Law courts Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi.
Considering that the couple has a months old baby in court with them who had stayed with them since they were arrested on Friday 6th, the magistrate released Muthoni on a cash bail of Sh 10,000
The husband was however ordered to pay a bond of Sh 50,000 or alternative cash bail of Sh 30,000 to secure his release.
The accused persons were asked to consider settling the matter out of court with the hotel.
The case will be mentioned on 23rd April 2018.
