Kilimani Chief Patrick Adira released after being arrested for not attending court

A Nairobi court has released Kilimani Location Chief Patrick Adagi Adira on two surety bond of sh 200,000 each.
His arrest was made after a warrant of arrest was issued against him for failing to attend court on 26th March 2018 for a mention of his case.
Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi lifted the warrant after the chief’s lawyer Betty Rashid told the court that his client did come to court that day but was late and found that it had already adjourned.
The two sureties who volunteered are his fellow Chief and a relative.
Adira is charged with forging a business permit worth Sh 61,000, property of Nairobi City County to Meriada Gardens Restaurant in Nairobi.
He is alleged to have committed the offence on 16th March 2018.
His lawyer told the court that the chief was investigating the validity of the business permit when he was arrested.
The accused denied the charge before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi who released him on bond.
The case will be mentioned on 23rd April 2018.
