A nominated Member of County Assembly from Nyandarua County has sued nominated MP Maina Kamanda for child upkeep.
The MCA accuses Kamanda of neglecting their one year old child. She states Kamanda is the biological father of the minor.
Under a certificate of urgency the mother wants Kamanda ordered to provide maintenance of the child by paying Sh 220,000 per month.
According to the nominated MCA, she has been providing for the minor without the assistance of Kamanda since she was born.
She says she is financially constrained by the cost of maintaining the child by herself.
The applicant avers that Kamanda is a man of means, a nominated MP and a prominent businessman while she is a nominated MCA and is able to provide the above amount for the upkeep of the minor.
The two allegedly met in the year 2017 and started an intimate relationship.
The woman has filed a supporting affidavit listing the monthly expenditure she wants the MP to provide including Sh 70,000 rent, Sh 30,000 for food and Sh 35,000 for utilities.
