A man has been charged with fraud after allegedly obtaining Sh 37 million from a businessman in a gold sale deal.

Nashon Otieno Angudha is accused of obtaining USD 250,000 (apprx Sh 37 million) from Surinder Singh Kanda by falsely pretending that the money was meant to hire a private jet, payment of insurance and taxes for 300 kilograms of gold.

The said gold was meant to be transported from Kenya to Dubai, a fact he knew to be false.

Angudha is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 13th July and 18th October 2023 at Runda Glory Valley estate jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud.

In addition, the accused was charged with conspiring with others not before court to defraud Kanda the said money.

Angudha denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe.
