Marianne Keitany, former DP William Ruto’s Chief of staff has obtained restraining orders against her husband Meru Senator Mithika Linturi.
This comes after Keitany reported to the DCI that Linturi had threatened to kill her after an argument.
She accused the lawmaker, a licensed gun holder of threatening to shoot her.
Senior Resident Magistrate I. Orenge restrained the Senator from visiting their Runda home or loitering around the area.
The lawmaker was further restrained from contacting Keitany, threatening or abusing her.
“The respondent is restrained from intimidating, harassing, stalking and/or engaging in any behaviour which amounts to emotional, verbal or psychological abuse of the applicant and/or the six children,” ordered the Magistrate.
Linturi was further restrained from physically or sexually abusing or threatening to abuse Keitany, her staff, their six children and any other person associated with the her.
On the other hand, Keitany was granted exclusive occupation of the shared residence. She was granted permission to enter any other residences of the the Senator to collect her personal belongings accompanied by an enforcement officer.
The Magistrate also restrained the politician from watching, loitering near, preventing or hindering access to/from the said shared residence, Keitany’s office, business other place other places that she visits often.
It is alleged that the couple has been living together for more than five years.
