NIC Bank employee charged with stealing Sh 16 million from bank

An NIC Bank employee has been charged with four counts of stealing over Sh 16 Million from the Bank.

Paul Ngigi Githinji, Buruburu branch supervisor was accused of stealing Sh 16,956,758, the property of the said bank which got into his possession by virtue of his employment. He is said to have committed the offense on 23rd September 2017 at the said bank jointly with another not before court.

The accused is said to have stolen the monies in different currencies including US dollars, GBP, Euros, South African Rand and Kenyan Shilling.

He denied the charges before Nairobi Milimani Law courts Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi.
