Controversial Bishop Gilbert Deya will spend another night in prison after the court ruled that his bail ruling was not ready today.
Chief magistrate Francis Andayi said that some of the references provided by the defense were not entirely correct and therefore had do more research himself.
Deya’s lawyer John Suaka told the court that his luggage and other documents were missing as he is yet to see them since his arrest.
However, through the prosecution, the investigating officers denied the allegations and told they only had one document in their possession, which was the extradition order.
The magistrate will make the bail ruling on Friday 11th at 9 am.
The self proclaimed Archbishop was arrested last week after being extradited from the UK to face child stealing charges which were preferred against him in 2005.
Deya denied the five charges of child stealing and was detained awaiting the ruling to release him on bail.
He is remanded at Kamiti Maximum prison.
