Indian national charged over human trafficking in Nairobi

An Indian national has been charged with human trafficking in Nairobi.

Ankur Ghansshy Ambayai Patel is accused of harbouring or receiving five females, two Indians and three Nepalese nationals.

Patel is alleged to have committed the offence on on 3rd August 2019 at Diamond Plaza within Nairobi jointly with others not before court.

He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi.

The prosecution requested the court to grant them a special hearing dates so as to dispense the victims who are being harboured in a safe house.

The magistrate directed the matter to the trial court for directions on hearing date.

The accused was granted a bond of Sh 1 million with one surety of the same amount or a cash bail of Sh 1 million.
