An assistant store supervisor at Chloride Exide Company has been charged with stealing company goods worth more than Sh 20 million.

Japheth Shitemi is accused of stealing the said goods which got into his possession by virtue of his employment at Chloride Exide.

Shitemi is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 31st October 2023 and 1st March 2024.

Some of the items he is said to have stolen are batteries, panels, system controller boshi, megasun support base, solar tanks among others.

He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi and was released on a cash bail of Sh 100,000.

This is after his lawyer pleaded with the court to give him a lower amount on grounds that he is not a flight risk and will attend court at all times.
