Bomas CEO Peter Koria denies graft charges

The Bomas of Kenya Chief Executive Officer has denied graft charges against him.

Peter Gitaa Karia has been charged with willful failure to comply with the law relating to procurement by engaging in a procurement process without an approved budget.

The alleged procurement was in relation to quotation of kitchen items and utensils during the financial year 2020/2021.

Karia is also accused of failing to appoint an Ad hoc inspection and acceptance committee in relation to the quotation of the said items.

He denied the charges before Anti-Corruption Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzakyo and was released on a cash bail of Sh 1 million.
