The family of slain Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen and the DPP want to reach an agreement to allow his wife and primary suspect in his murder to participate in his burial.

Through her lawyer Philip Murgor, the suspect, Sarah Wairimu Kamotho wants the court to allow her attend Cohen’s burial at Jewish Cemetery on Wangari Mathai road on Monday 23rd.

The parties want the court to order the OC Langata women’s prison to produce and escort Wairimu to the burial.

Through lawyer Cliff Ombeta, Tob’s sister Gabrielle Van Struaten has agreed to have the DCI, DPP and prison authorities facilitate the arrangement.

Sarah had earlier objected to the burial without her involvement on grounds that Cohen’s sister has no legal mandate to take his body and bury him.

The matter was certified urgent and set for hearing on the morning of Monday 23rd, the day the send off is expected to take place.

Lawyer Ombeta said that the agreement was reached to avoid issues and fights so as to give Cohen a proper send off.

She is yet to be charged with the offence as the court ordered she be taken for a mental assessment before pleading to the charges.
