A former Kenya Revenue Authority manager and his wife have been charged with failure to pay taxes amounting to Sh 38.6 million.
Joseph Chege Gikonyo and Lucy Kangai and are charged alongside their company, Giche Limited, with failing to pay taxes arising from the company’s taxable income and accrued penalties.
The accused persons are alleged to have committed the offence on diverse dates between the year 2010 and 2015 in Mombasa County.
They denied the charges before Anti-Corruption Chief Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi and were granted a bond of Sh 10 million each or deposit a cash bail of Sh 5 million each.
