NDMU police officer detained for 30 days on suspicions terror related activities

A National Disaster Management Unit (NDMU) police officer based at Vigilance house, Nairobi will be remanded until August 4th to give the police time to complete investigations of terror related activities the suspect is accused of.

Waiss Abdulaziz Mohammed who was trying to ensure that the media does not get photographs of his face was arrested on July 1st 2017 at NDMU offices, vigilance house Nairobi.

According to Anti-Terrorism police, the suspect is an active Facebook user and has on several occasions posted messages in support of terrorism activities in the Country and the world.

ATPU said that the messages posted and disseminated by the Mohammed are meant to encourage and radicalize other persons to commit acts of terrorism.

The court heard that in one of Mohammed’s Facebook posts on June 28th 2017, he wrote that he was bound to die and kill a number of people in the process and that on July 5th,  the was going to face death soon.
