Two people have been charged with obtaining over Sh 7 million by false pretenses.
Morris Mugendi Mbabu and Nicholas Mugambi Maingi alias Samwel Mungania are accused of obtaining Sh 7, 430,500 from Mary Nyokabi Thuo by falsely pretending that they were in a position to sell to her a piece of land within Westlands area in Nairobi County.
The two are alleged to have committed the offence on diverse dates 20th September 2017 and 10th December 2018 jointly with others not before court with intent to defraud.
The accused denied the charges before Chief magistrate Francis Andayi who granted them a cash bail of Sh 500,000.
The case will be mentioned on 19th august and will be heard on 23rd September 2019.
