A Narok businessman accused of killing his wife has been ordered to undergo a mental assessment test before pleading to murder charges.

Zacharia Ngetich Silatei is accused of killing his wife Judith Resiato on 1st November 2022 at their home in Kimogoro Village in Sogoo Sub-location within Narok County.

The accused is suspected to have set the home ablaze after the incident.

Nairok High Court criminal division Registrar Adelaide Sisenda directed him to undergo a mental assessment test to establish his suitability to stand trial.

The court directed the suspect to appear in court on 22nd November when the criminal case will be mentioned.

Silatei had attempted to block his in-laws from removing his late wife’s body from the morgue for burial after allegedly being barred from taking part in the process.

In addition, he attempted to block her burial by filing a suit before a Narok Magistrates Court but was dismissed.
