Ugandan man posing as a witch doctor charged in Nairobi after obtaining 1.3M to heal epilepsy

A Ugandan accused of being a witch doctor has been charged in Nairobi after allegedly obtaining Sh1.3 million to heal an epileptic patient.

Keneth Nkolwa is accused of using fraudulent tricks by being a witch doctor to induced Deka Said Omar to pay Sh1.3 million by falsely pretending that he was in a position to treat and heal an epileptic condition of one Mohamed Jamal, a nephew to the said Deka Said Omar through magic heal, a fact he knew to be false.

Nkolwa is alleged to have committed the offence on the diverse dates between 29th May and 28th July 2023 at Stima Plaza, Ngara within Nairobi County, jointly with others not before court.

He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina. 

The magistrate ordered the accused to be detained until Wednesday 29th  when a probation report will be tabled to the court to determine appropriate bail terms.
